Our 3 Step External House Washing Process
Step 1:
Soft wash : The cleaning solution is sprayed onto all surfaces, from the external of the gutters down to the ground of your house, where it begins to emulsify the build-up of grime, killing mould, mildew and softens cobwebs, making them easier to remove.
This includes:
- External Gutters
- Soffits
- Eaves
- Windows (basic clean and left to air dry) – Spray, Brush and rinse
- Underside of your pergola roof (the ceiling) if attached to the house
- Screens (these are not removed from the windows)
- Walls
- Railings / Balustrading
- Balconies
- Poles
- Small Window Awnings
Step 2:
Where necessary, surfaces are scrubbed with soft brushes to remove any stubborn stains or spots. Windows and screens are also scrubbed.
Step 3:
Surfaces are then rinsed off, removing any excess dirt, grime, wasp nests and animal droppings. Once your house wash is complete your house will be clean, bright and healthy.

How often does my house need washing?
We recommend that external house washing be performed annually.
This does depend on different factors, like – the amount of sunlight your house gets, if the property is in a damp or built up area, or has a lot of trees that are in close proximity to your house, even weather has an effect on regrowth – ( more rain/moisture more mould ).
Why don’t you use high pressure cleaners on the property instead of using the gentle soft wash cleaning solution?
High pressure cleaning on your walls and paint can be too harsh.
We advise NO high pressure should ever be applied to the surface of your house because it can be too harsh on the paint and wood, not to mention that it will force water into places we don’t want it to go.
Physical contact, combined with our specialised and gentle cleaning solutions is a more thorough and safer option for house washing.
Why do you recommend a pre-paint clean prior to repainting the house?
It must be stated that mould is the key contributor to paint “failing” as the spores get under the paint surface and continue to grow until eventually popping off the paint and causing it to crack, lift and ultimately fall away from the surface.
If you do not remove the mould before re-painting you are dramatically reducing the life of your new paint job. Even sanding the house will not remove all the mould spores.
Our cleaning solution will kill mould and prepare the surface for painting, therefore helping to prolong the life of the paint.
Preparation is the key to a long lasting paint job.
What if I have allergies?
Having your house washed regularly is the best thing for reducing mould spores.
Our cleaning solution kills mould and mildew that may cause allergy flare ups. Every clean we do sanitises surfaces and kills bacteria.
Will water come inside?
Not necessarily, however the most common water entry/leakage points are around the bottom of the doors.
All care is taken to prevent this, but occasionally it can happen. Use old towels around your window and door frames while the house washing is taking place if you are concerned.
How long will the house washing take?
We estimate the house washing to take approximately 2-4 hours, but this can vary depending on your needs and the aesthetics of your property. This will be dependant on the size of your home.
Does my brick house need a house washing service?
Yes, house washing is very essential.
Mould, mildew and grime still grow on your bricks, it’s just not as obvious. If you just have your external guttering, eaves, soffits and windows washed, all the dirty run off will flow onto your bricks.
What is included in the house washing service?
Our house washing service includes wash from the external of the gutters down to the ground of the house itself:
- External of Gutters, Eaves, Soffits, Walls, Railings / Balustrades, Balconies, Poles
- Underside of Window Awnings
- Patio/pergola ceiling and railings
- Rinse/hose patio floors
- Basic glass clean of all external windows and screens – (spray, brush, rinse and left to air dry)
- Mould/Sanitiser treatment (FREE)
Are my Deck / Patio areas included in the house washing service?
Yes – The deck / patios walls and ceiling are included in the house washing service – the floor area is rinsed / hosed off, not high pressure cleaned.
How can we pay for the house washing service?
You can pay the house washing services by:

- EFT
You can pay our technician for the house washing service on the day of the service.
You can also call our office and pay via Credit Card.
There is no surcharge for Credit Card Payments
Do I have to be home for the house washing service?
No one needs to be home for the house washing. However, we do recommend if you know your property leaks that you are home during the house washing to communicate with the technician.
We do need full external access of the perimeter.
Let us know prior to booking if you have any concerns or areas in particular that you would like to discuss.
How do I prepare for a house washing service?
Below is a basic pre arrival check list, upon booking with us we will email you our “Pre Arrival Checklist and Preparation Sheet ” that will explain everything that you need to know.
- Make sure the areas being cleaned are free from items that don’t like being wet or could possibly be affected by the cleaning materials. i.e. couches, televisions, radios, pillows, clothing, books, paintings etc.
- Ensure your windows and doors are closed and inform us if you know they leak
- Remove all washing from the clothesline
- We recommend advising your neighbours of our visit
Can the weather affect my house washing service date?
Weather in general is not a problem; most of our services can still be done in the rain.
We know you are busy and your time is important, but unfortunately high winds and lightning can affect us. We will endeavour to reschedule a suitable date for your house washing service.
What if I have a dog?
Dogs are generally not a problem for us. But it is important that you advise us if you have dogs when booking, purely so we can ensure we close gates etc. during the house washing service.
Do I have to remove items from around the outside of my house before the house washing service?
Yes, for a few reasons:
- To ensure a thorough clean of your house
- Prevent overspray on your belongings
- Avert electrical items from getting wet
- For the safety of the technician (trip hazards).
Can you do the house washing service while other work is being done?
No, we can’t perform the house washing. It is imperative that no tradesmen or external works be organized for the same day as our external cleaning service.
Too many trades make it impossible for us to get our job done and deliver you the highest quality house washing service, and honestly, it obstructs them too.
What if I have just had painting done? Can I still have the house washing service?
Please inform us if you have had any painting done in the last 6 months – we will be happy to discuss this with you in more detail.

- Washing of external gutters, external of water tanks, soffits, eaves, walls, basic window cleaning ( Left to air dry ), screens, beams, lattice, railings, ceilings, balustrading, balcony walls, the underside of the pergola roof and the underside of window hoods, balcony floors rinsed off.
- Garage doors are also included if fixed to the house
- Free mould and Spider Treatment with every house wash
- Wooden, Cladded, Champher Board or Hardi Plank are classed as the same surface
- Prices are for soft wash spray, brush and rinse – property is left to air dry including Glass.
